FUGA – A crescendo of flavours

An elegant and sophisticated restaurant
set in the gardens of the Athens Concert Hall

The Athens Concert Hall is delighted to announce the opening of the Fuga restaurant – offering a return to simple cuisine based on much-loved Italian and Mediterranean flavours and fresh, high-quality ingredients. The consulting chef Andrea Berton (two Michelin stars for his Trussardi alla Scala restaurant in Milan) experiments with tried and trusted methods and stimulating combinations of basic ingredients to produce authentic and intelligible dishes which make an immediate impact on the palate, always with their roots in Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. In his own words: ‘It is important to me to create dishes with unambiguous flavours, so that the customer can understand immediately what he has on his plate’. This philosophy is also espoused by resident chef, Italian Pantaleo de Pinto, who has collaborated with Andrea Berton in the past and comes to Athens from the two-star Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Paris.

The Fuga restaurant offers friendly, seasonally flavoured cuisine. The restaurant is located at the top of the hill in the Concert Hall gardens, with a panoramic view of the city. The design is modern: sober lines and earth tones with features in wood – an impressive space devised by internal decorator Angelos Angelopoulos. The restaurant is an open, welcoming space, serving food at all times – not just on days of Concert Hall performances. A restaurant of this calibre – the latest member of the Trasteli Group – was exactly what the centre of Athens had been lacking.

Ingredients are invariably fresh and carefully selected. The signature dishes include risotto alla Milanese, lamb with aubergines and tomato mayonnaise, and a light tiramisu. The wine list offers reasonably priced Italian labels, many of them unavailable elsewhere in Greece.

Fuga is an ideal venue for professional meetings or for groups and families appreciating good food at affordable prices. The restaurant is open from 6 p.m., all year round – with seating inside in winter and on the terrace in summer. The regular menu is available for late suppers after concerts. The restaurant has its own entrance at 1 Kokkali St., or can be entered through the Concert Hall parking facility.
