The daring opera buffa that upsets the moral balance of the time by questioning the faith of women and investigating the various aspects of love was first performed in 1790. A story of lover-swapping between two young couples that director Phelim McDermott ingeniously sets in 1950s Coney Island, against an amusement-park background.
Among a talented cast, Kelli O’Hara, winner of the 2015 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical, appears in the role of Despina.
