A hip-hop version of the story of Romeo and Juliet
This new version of Shakespeare’s play, created by Sébastien Lefrançois, displays a range of unexpected styles. Accompanied by 7 hip hop dancers, 1 circus performer and 1 actor, Sébastien Lefrançois reinterprets a series of symbolic scenes, such as the ball, the balcony and the battle between the Capulets and the Montaigus. Why? To make Shakespeare come alive through the urban dance and culture and for the challenge it represents.
