On the occasion of the performances of Vollmond by Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, the Megaron presents two screenings of Wim Wenders’ film PINA (2011).
PINA is a film by Wim Wenders dedicated to Pina Bausch. Shot with the ensemble of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, this feature-length dance film celebrates the exhilarating and unique art of the great German choreographer, who passed away in the summer of 2009.
It invites the viewer on a sensual journey of discovery, rich in striking imagery, into a new dimension: onto the stage of the legendary company and, together with the dancers, beyond the theatre, into the city and the surrounding industrial landscape of Wuppertal, the place that for more than 35 years was Pina Bausch’s home and the centre of her creative work.
