The extraordinary soprano Ashmick Grigorian takes on the demanding role of Cho-Cho-Cho-San, the loyal geisha at the heart of Puccini’s heartbreaking tragedy. Tenor Jonathan Tettelman plays the cruel US naval officer Pinkerton, who betrays Cho-Cho-Shan and leads her to disaster. Mezzosoprano Elizabeth DeSong, once again in the role of the devoted maid Suzuki, while baritone Lucas Meacham plays the American Consul Sharpless. Distinguished conductor Shian Zhang leads the orchestra in Anthony Mingella’s glittering production.
