The Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodríguez, after meeting Quincy Jones at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2006, emigrated to the United States to pursue his dream. Armed with his studies at Havana’s classical conservatories and his Afro-Cuban jazz roots, he quickly rose to become a globally acclaimed musician and a Grammy nominee.

Cameroonian bassist Richard Bona followed, from a very young age, in the footsteps of the great American bassist Jaco Pastorius. With a career spanning more than three decades, he won his first Grammy in 2002, while his fourth album Tiki was nominated for “Best Contemporary World Music Album.”

The two artists were brought together by their mutual mentor Quincy Jones, forming a long-standing friendship. The result of their collaboration is inspired, powerful, and truly unique.
