Karthaia, one of the four city-states of Kea, lies within an untouched Cycladic landscape, unscathed by modern interventions. The ancient theatre of the city was excavated, stabilised, and restored between 2011 and 2015, and since then has hosted cultural events every year, bringing the site back to life.
