About the Workshop
Join artist Jenny Marketou, in collaboration with Kostas Kontomanos, Cob Collective, for a hands-on outdoor experience designed for children aged 6-14 years old. The workshop transforms imagination into action inviting young creators to reimagine the city as a shared home for all living beings. Inspired by Folly for Songs for FUNK Kinships, the sculptural public artwork by Jenny Marketou this experimental workshop invites young participants to explore how art can inspire environmental awareness and care for our shared ecosystems.
Participants will step into the perspective of their favorite species and create small-scale habitats using natural materials such as clay, cob, adobe, river sand, wood sticks, and natural pigments. Together, they will build bird nests, feeders, insect homes, and “bug hotels,” while also making seed bombs to help regenerate local ecosystems.
Participants will…
• …discover the rich, often unseen ecosystems around them.
• …imagine cities where humans and nature thrive together.
• …express ideas through storytelling and hands-on making.
• …learn creative ways to care for the environment.
The workshop is addressed to english speaking students as well, with translation by the artist.
