Overview

The rare as well as enchanting coexistence of the classical guitar with the cello and the unexpectedly rich, warm and evocative sound world that they create, drove cellist Asterios Pouftis and guitarist Nikos Balogiannis to form Duo is Orchestra. Their purpose is to approach and explore a wide repertoire spanning from the Renaissance era to the present day. The programme of this evening’s concert is dedicated entirely to contemporary musical creation and includes works by the leading composers of the 20th and 21st centuries Radamés Gnattali, Nikita Koskin, Jaime M. Zenamon, Astor Piazzolla and Atanas Ourkouzounov.
