CONCERTS IN THE CONCERT HALL GARDEN
The event is part of the “Art Night Athens”, events taking place
on Saturday 23rd September throughout the city of Athens.
As part of the action of “Theatre of Peace” and in collaboration with the international organizations “Elliniko Theatro” and “International Readers of Homer”, the Megaron – Athens Concert Hall presents a recitation marathon of Homer’s “Odyssey” in an inter-cultural atmosphere.
The event is under the auspices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and is dedicated to the Odyssey of Refugees hosted in Greece and elsewhere.
The translation used of the text will be that by Kazantzakis-Kakridis (2017-‘Year of Nikos Kazantzakis’)
The scene will be shared by 200 readers of all ages and nationalities to recite and sing one of global history’s most important works to the Greek audience and foreign visitors. The readers may recite the text in the language of their choice. During the recitation the text will be projected in both the Greek and the English language.
