Today internationally acclaimed soloists, they once studied with Nicholas Kynaston within the organ education programme of the Friends of Music Society. Ourania Gassiou, organist and curator of the Megaron organ, together with Eleni Keventsidou, organist of the Protestant Church in London, share the keyboards and pedals of this magnificent instrument in a rare collaboration — performing both solo works and pieces for four hands.

The programme includes classical masterpieces such as the first movement of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in Max Reger’s transcription for four hands, Bach’s vigorous Prelude and Fugue in A minor, BWV 543, and Reger’s tender Consolation in E major, Op. 65 No. 4. The Heroic Sonata by Joseph Jongen adds intensity and depth, while the ethereal melodies of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite for four hands bring charm and lightness. The evening closes with beloved Christmas melodies in the spirit of the season, warming hearts and accompanying us into the festivities.
