Overview

The distinguished organist reveals again this year the jewel of Christos Lambrakis Hall – the imposing organ, a symbol of Megaron’s Christmas events. Of course, no festive programme of Ourania Gassiou would be complete without the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, whose stochastic spirituality and evocative power illuminate the deeper meaning of this great celebration of Christianity. Her recital also features major works by later composers, who themselves played the organ and contributed to its repertoire compositions that are impressive and highly demanding in terms of technique.
