Rhapsody Ω, the final book of the Iliad, is presented in a contemporary stage composition combining spoken word, music and light. The remarkable text of Dimitris Maronitis’ translation of the Homeric epic is performed in its entirety by the actress Amalia Moutoussi in the role of narrator–rhapsode, in a production of exceptional interpretative demands in which seven characters “meet” through an equal number of successive stage presences.

The dramaturgical treatment is seamlessly interwoven with the original music by Dimitris Kamarotos, performed live with wind instruments and electronic media, creating a unified “score” that encompasses both the music and the flow of the text’s meaning through rhythms and breaths — a distinctive “music of meanings”. The spoken word gains pulse and intensity, while silence functions as an active dramaturgical element. Lighting compositions interact with the performer’s body, transforming the narration into a single, immersive stage experience.

A theatrical–musical encounter with the Homeric epic that confronts the end of war, redemption and human fragility, opening a space for reflection with striking contemporary resonance.
