On her sixteenth birthday, Princess Aurora, who has been cursed by the evil fairy Carabosse, falls into a deep sleep for a hundred years. Only a prince’s kiss can break the spell.
Tchaikovsky’s wonderful fairy-tale ballet choreographed by Yuri Grigorovich: the stage is filled with numerous magical beings, elves and fairies, including Little Red Riding Hood and Puss in Boots. The beautiful young Princess Aurora is danced by Olga Smirnova, ‘a truly extraordinary talent’, according to the The Telegraph. Classical ballet at its best!
