Operetta in three acts
The all-time Greek operetta favourite in a new production by the Camerata musicians and George Petrou, in the original version of the 1918 historic premiere.
After the two victorious Balkan Wars, the Greek army fought in the First World War on the side of the allies, in the territory of Macedonia. The entire nation was looking forward to yet another victory! After all this fighting, soldiers and officers are looking for a chance to put aside their military life, and indulge in some lovemaking, getting involved in various escapades with the ladies and singing spirited love songs and an emblematic march. Theofrastos Sakellaridis became identified with this work, and his brilliant melodies remain unforgettable.
