the Embassy of France
the French Institute Athens
and the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens

A symposium dedicated to the great French Hellenist who devoted her life to the study of ancient Greek language and thought. Jacqueline de Romilly (1913-2010) was a member of the French Academy and the first woman professor at the Collège de France. In 1995 she was granted Greek citizenship by Presidential Decree.

Co-ordinator: Nikoleta Yantsi, Assistant Professor of European Mediaeval History at the University of Athens
