Grass, marble, sky travel from 369 BC and converge in this place. A still journey that recounts countless stories.
Under the shadow of Sparta, the memory of courage and the claim of the oppressed, the birth of a collective identity in the city of Messene.
On the other side, the slope descending down into the sea and the sight of Sphacteria bind, through the course of time, the same idea: freedom on their own land.
The same questions follow humanity to this day. Images awaken movement. People are called to find human solutions.

Stella Nastou has been working in photography since 1983. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions, as well as publications, in Greece and abroad. Most of her work is in black-and-white analogue photography. In recent years, she has also explored digital photography. The photographs presented here were created in May 2017.
