Contemporary performance techniques on the cello
As part of her appearance in Athens, the young Austrian cellist Valerie Fritz will lead a workshop for composers and cellists entitled ‘Contemporary Performance Techniques on the Cello’.
A rising star of the ECHO Rising Stars programme, Valerie Fritz is drawn to the unusual. She collaborates with contemporary composers, balancing the classical repertoire with works that push beyond the conventional boundaries of music-making. She has been selected as a Rising Star for the 2025/26 season and is particularly active in contemporary music.
