What must it have been like to live beside Johann Sebastian Bach? Anna Magdalena, his wife, a singer and companion on his life’s journey, becomes the voice that opens the door for us into the composer’s world. Together they had thirteen children and lived in a house where family life was closely intertwined with music, yet also deeply marked by loss.
The dramatized narration by Magda Mavrogianni presents Bach through the eyes of his wife and brings to life what the couple experienced, especially those moments when the two of them “stood in silence, holding hands” in the face of life’s challenges. On piano, Karolos Zouganelis performs a panorama of the great cantor’s work, unfolding the impressive range of his timeless music.
The performance is suitable for children over 16 years of age.
