ARMONIA ATENEA – THE FRIENDS OF MUSIC ORCHESTRA
Production: Armonia Atenea-The Friends of Music Orchestra
Internationally acclaimed conductor George Petrou is attempting the revival of a historic night, the marathon concert where Beethoven premiered six of his works (Vienna, 22 December 1808). The period instruments of Armonia Atenea (including a fortepiano dating back to 1820) will bring us closer to the authentic sounds of 1800.
Ludwig van Beethoven:
– Symphony No. 7*
– “Ah perfido”, concert aria, opus 65
– “Sanctus et Benedictus” from the Mass in C major, opus 86
– Choral Fantasy, opus 80
* Armonia Atenea will perform Beethoven’s Seventh instead of Fifth
