Pianist and composer Stathis Anninos, one of the most versatile musicians of his generation, performs live on piano and electronics alongside The General by Buster Keaton, creating an original and dynamic soundtrack and celebrating the 100th anniversary of what is perhaps the greatest comedy in cinema history.

Set during the American Civil War, a daring locomotive engineer pursues Union spies who steal his train and kidnap his beloved, launching a hilarious chase filled with nonstop action, daring stunts and romance.

For the seventh consecutive year, the Megaron Garden hosts a masterpiece of silent cinema. This year, Buster Keaton takes centre stage, directing and starring in one of the most defining—and irresistibly funny—achievements in film history.

The General redefined both comedy and cinema through large-scale, realistic action sequences, precise visual storytelling without dialogue, and groundbreaking direction and editing. Its use of real trains, audacious stunts and long takes set new standards for cinematic realism, technical excellence and ambition.

Buster Keaton’s dedication to authenticity and technical precision has become part of the enduring legend of both the artist and the film—a legacy that, through its perfect balance of humour, spectacle and tension, continues to inspire creators and audiences worldwide, a century later.
