Marika Klambatsea presents her award-winning experimental opera Calamity Jane – Letters to her daughter (1877-1902) [State Prize for original music and interpretation], which has already been staged to great critical acclaim in the UK.
Marika Klambatsea – Soprano, Pianist and Composer – is well known for her musical intervention in classical forms as well as her vocal free improvisation. The Herald Tribune described her work as “reminiscent of both Maria Callas and Janis Joplin”.
