Russian soprano Elena Stikhina and Greek baritone Dimitri Platanias belong to those lyrical artists who are much sought-after by the world’s greatest opera houses, as they are capable of riveting performances, even in the most demanding operatic roles.Under the direction of acclaimed conductor Lucas Karytinos leading the Athens State Orchestra, they draw from their wide repertoire favourite arias of Italian romantic operas (with an emphasis on the immortal Giuseppe Verdi) and demonstrate both their experience as well as their inexhaustible vocal and musical talent, promising readings full of vigour, power and brilliance.
