For the Black Sea Greeks The Athens State Orchestra Concerts/ Orchestra in Residence of Megaron the Athens Concert Hall

Overview
19 May: A day of remembrance.
The composers, the works and the performers of tonight’s concert resonate with the primitive dynamism and expressiveness of the music of Pontus. With them, the Athens State Orchestra and conductor Vladimiros Symeonidis commemorate the day of remembrance of the Genocide of Pontic Hellenism and also bring to light notable pages of Greek musical creation. The programme ends with Tchaikovsky’s symphonic swansong, his heartbreaking and deeply confessional “Pathétique” symphony.
