FRIENDS OF MUSIC SOCIETY – EVENTS AT MEGARON

The Creation [Die Schöpfung], Haydn’s iconic oratorio, 220 years after its first public performance at Vienna’s old Burgtheater.
Britain’s largest choral society, The Really Big Chorus, Greek choral ensemble Musica (250 members in total), and the Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Brian Kay, join forces for the performance of Haydn’s masterpiece.
Deeply impressed by Handel’s oratorios, Haydn drew inspiration from the Book of Genesis: from Chaos, to the six days of the Creation of Light, the Heavenly Bodies and the Earth, the Plants and Animals, and, finally, Man in His own image.
