Lennox Berkeley meets Plato’s star with jazz nuances, Dmitri Shostakovich’s battling Russian heart embraces the historic moment of Zalongo, Antonine Dvorzak sketches Kolya Vytiniotis, a charioteer and thief from Vytina, Maurice Ravel is inspired by Eugene Delacroix’s painting “The Massacre of Chios”, Herman Ruetter praises the goddess Aphrodite through the eyes of Sappho. Among them, two chamber music works by Dimitris Terzakis and Yannis Konstantinidis. Three distinguished soloists present cycles of Greek songs set to music by foreign composers.
