On the occasion of the recent donation of Charalampos Ekmektsoglou’s Archive to the Lilian Voudouri Music Library of the Friends of Music Society, Nikos Baloyiannis narrates, in his own words, the life and work of this great guitar maestro. In a unique “guitarography,” he performs works of profound artistry and aesthetics by Greek and international composers. Romantic miniatures by Ekmektsoglou, oriental dreamlike improvisations by the ingenious Domeniconi, and ethereal reminiscences of the iconic Spanish composer Tárrega intertwine with the theatrical narrative art of Theodoros Antoniou, the poignant ode of the gifted Duplessy, and the childlike innocence of the enchanted forest by the 20th-century guitar master Barrios Mangoré. The guitar at its finest!
