Håkan Hardenberger with Ergon Ensemble

Overview
Sweden’s Håkan Hardenberger is perhaps the most prominent trumpet soloist of our time, with appearances in famous concert halls and collaborations with the world’s foremost orchestras. His unparalleled virtuosity has led major contemporary composers to write especially for him imaginative works, which expand the trumpet’s repertoire and expressive boundaries. In tonight’s concert, Hardenberger joins Ergon Ensemble in the dual role of soloist and conductor, as he has done many times and with remarkable success in his long career. The programme of works highlights the sensual brass sound and the original visions of today’s restless composers, in all their glory.
