JUNGE PHILHARMONIE BRANDENBURG, UNDERGROUND YOUTH ORCHESTRA: A GREEK-GERMAN MUSICAL COLLABORATION. This concert, the fruit of the collaboration between the Greek youth orchestra Underground Youth Orchestra and the Brandenburg Youth Philharmonic, is the embodiment of hope. What could be more hopeful than to see young artists with talent, excellent studies and big dreams playing music side by side, learning to discipline themselves for a perfect artistic result? Understanding the value of teamwork and mutual respect through the symphony orchestra and the healing of the symphonic repertoire, proving that music does not divide but unites. Young, eclectic musicians from Greece and Germany perform masterpieces of world music that celebrate the human being and the ideal of freedom, such as Shostakovich’s Fifth and Beethoven’s “Egmont” Introduction. The Underground Youth Orchestra has the right to be proud not only of its rich concert, educational and recording work, but also of the fact that it has established its position in the European youth orchestra scene with distinction, acting as an excellent ambassador of our country’s culture.
The programme of the collaboration of the two orchestras
is funded by the Hellenic-German Youth Foundation.
