Karagiozis’ Christmas at the Bottom of the Sea

Overview
CHRISTMAS AT MEGARON
A new production
December, 29
Well-known shadow-puppeteer Elias Karellas returns to the Athens Concert Hall for the seventh year in a row with a brand-new underwater adventure full of humour, action, and music.
The secrets of the sea are always exciting: let’s find out what happens at the bottom of the sea each Christmas and New Year! All the sea creatures are preparing their own Christmas party, and Karagiozis is their guest of honour this year. But the bad-tempered, stingy crab is reluctant to spend his precious money on music and singing. Will Karagiozis and his friends manage to make their music heard or will the silence of the deep prevail? Will the Christmas mermaid be able to help them? Will Karagiozis prove a true seaman or will he make a mess of it all? The white screen will answer our questions…
The children’s favourite shadow-theatre hero is accompanied by the Dirty Athens Brass Band, a six-member wind band, and Georgia Dagaki with her unique voice and her lyra.
Co-produced by the Elias Karellas Shadow Theatre Company and the Athens Concert Hall
