The Captain Racket is a fearless seafarer who travels the world in his boat, together with his travelling companion, trying to discover where the sea begins. His fellow adventurers are the children, transformed into dragons, pirates, and sea creatures.
With the instruments he carries with him—bagpipe, kaval, bouzouki, and idiophones—as well as with any object he finds around him—from glasses and jugs to seashells and kitchen utensils—he creates sounds, rhythms, and melodies as he crosses the sea and enchants the children in a unique maritime adventure. The programme offers a unique experience in aesthetic and music education.
Through imagination, play, and participatory storytelling, children sit in cushions with their accompanying adults being introduced to musical expression, rhythm, improvisational creativity, and collaboration. At the same time, they discover the value of each moment and the power of music.
