Ourania Gassiou Organ recital
Overview
The distinguished organist reveals again this year the jewel of Christos Lambrakis Hall – the imposing organ, a symbol of Megaron’s Christmas events. No festive programme of Ourania Gassou would be complete without the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, whose reflective spirituality and evocative power illuminate the profound meaning of this great celebration of Christianity. Her recital also features major works of the German repertoire (by Händel and Mendelssohn), as well as works by the French romantic composers (and brilliant organists) Franck and Grison, vocally accompanied by the well-known mezzo-soprano Marita Paparizou.
