The famous French string quartet Quator Ébène, having won first prize at the ARD International Competition in 2004, has begun to tour the world, while its recordings have won the most important international awards. Audiences and critics alike have admired their inspired performances of a wide range of repertoire, from Haydn to Bartók and from Beethoven to jazz improvisation. The vibrancy of their performances and the spirit of renewal of tradition that distinguishes them, have made the quartet equally popular with mature and young audiences alike.
