Briton Ben Goldscheider is often invited as a horn soloist by major orchestras, works with legendary musicians such as Martha Argerich and Daniel Barenboim, appears at high-profile festivals and is recognised as one of the leading horn virtuosos internationally. In addition to the classic works for horn by Beethoven and Schumann, his recital programme features new compositions by Mark Simpson and Jörg Widmann, which pose extreme technical challenges to the performer, as well as the very melodic, impressionistic-style Sonata by the Belgian composer Jane Vignery.
