The four romantic composers whose works make up the programme of tonight’s concert, not only lived in 19th-century Germany but were also linked by bonds of friendship and mutual appreciation. Similar important bonds of life also connect the musicians of the Ekfrasis Ensemble, who have been participating in the Greek musical scene with consistency and dedication, for decades now. Turning their interest to the romantic repertoire for oboe, horn and piano, they provide us with an invaluable opportunity to reconnect with well-known works by Schumann and Brahms but also to become acquainted with beautiful pages of music composed by two lesser-known yet quite remarkable composers.
