Some people believe that Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony no. 10 is a dramatic music description of the hard times of Stalinism; others believe that it is a work transmitting profound feelings regardless of the time’s political conditions. Nobody will ever know the truth, but there’s one certain thing: this symphony is equally moving no matter the times it is performed. Its dark and luminous sides are highlighted by the technically and expressively precise and robust baton of the conductor Michalis Oikonomou, subsequently to his collaboration with the established soloist, Natalia Michailidou in the renown composer, Michalis Travlos’s Piano concert.
