The children’s favourite shadow-puppeteer Elias Karellas welcomes us, for the second year in a row, to the three-dimensional, renovated ‘House of Karagiozis’, with a new adventure! Areti Ketimé, with her enchanting voice and her santoor will be his musical companion this time.
In this multifaceted performance cum educational programme, with its creators serving as our guides, we are taken around the House of Karagiozis—a specifically designed area of 300sq.m.—and discover age-old secrets through interactive games; we also have the chance to inspect such rare collectors’ items as shadow-theatre figures from all over the world.
At the end of this tour, Elias Karellas puts up his white screen in Karagiozis’ yard and, together with our beloved shadow-theatre characters, invites us to enjoy the show entitled Karagiozis and the Tree of Music. Melodies and rare songs from all over the country: from Thrace to Crete, from the Ionian to the Aegean Sea; and the usual hilarious dialogues, in a modern performance inspired by Greek tradition.
The Athens Concert Hall establishes a venue for the shadow theatre, for the first time in Greece.
