Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner stand as the two great pillars of the Romantic operatic repertoire in Italy and Germany, respectively. Though completely different in their vision of opera and in the methods they employed, both succeeded in elevating the genre to its very pinnacle.

Internationally acclaimed baritone Aris Argiris — a favourite of opera audiences through his many triumphant performances — contrasts defining moments from the works of these two giants of opera. He is joined by German pianist Peter Bortfeldt, who also contributes as soloist with piano transcriptions from La forza del destino, Rigoletto, Lohengrin and Tannhäuser.
