Overview

Those passionately loving choral singing for bringing out in them feelings of profound devoutness; those finding in the simplicity of early music a path for the soul’s return to the “lost innocence” of mankind; those seeking the thread of a primordial spirituality which remains relevant today – all those should not miss this concert! Vox Clamantis, the multi-awarded (including with one Grammy) vocal ensemble from Estonia specialising in Gregorian chant and early music polyphony as well as in contemporary vocal music, performs a deeply stirring choral work by their compatriot Arvo Pärt, based on the St John Passion. Revisiting the roots of European musical creation and exploiting the immediacy of the human voice, Pärt’s music is at every hearing an evocative, if not metaphysical, musical experience.
