The Nutcracker and I is an innovative multimedia performance for solo piano with dance and digital animation, created by the Romanian-born piano soloist Alexandra Dariescu, with the aim of reaching younger audiences and building bridges with those who are not yet familiar with classical music. After its triumphant premiere at London’s Barbican Centre in 2017, the performance has been a huge success in Europe, Australia, China, the Emirates and the USA, having been performed dozens of times in influential concert venues, attracting a total of over seventy thousand listeners!
