With more than fifty years of uninterrupted creative presence, Billy Cobham stands as one of the leading figures of jazz fusion. A collaborator of Miles Davis and a founding member of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, he forged a personal style that permanently transformed the role of the drums and influenced generations of musicians. The legendary artist, now 82 years old, continues to captivate audiences with his inexhaustible energy, thrilling polyrhythms and explosive stage presence. With his new concert project Time Machine, Cobham revisits works from his creative period in the 1970s, including compositions from the album Total Eclipse. This is not, however, a nostalgic retrospective; the earlier compositions engage in dialogue with new material, retaining their structural precision while leaving room for improvisation and dynamic interplay between the musicians of the ensemble on stage.
