The teenager dazzling audiences in Milan, the creator at the height of his fame, the composer shortly before the end: the Camerata Friends of Music Orchestra, under the direction of Vassilis Christopoulos, presents on period instruments three masterpieces by Mozart from three different periods of his life. The Clarinet Concerto, his last completed instrumental work, was written for his friend Anton Stadler and for a type of clarinet with an extended lower range. The Prague Symphony was Mozart’s gift to the city that loved his music with passion. The festive motet Exsultate, jubilate carries the theatricality of Italian opera into sacred music; its joyful energy is infectious, and the work is frequently included in festive programmes.
