THE CONCERT IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF ARIS AND LILIAN VOUDOURI.
With his music, composer Dimitris Maramis has succeeded in bringing the Greek classical literary tradition into the present, with respect and a contemporary artistic lens: Erotokritos, The Haunted, Captain Michalis, and Eleftherios Venizelos.

The contemporary Greek musical Erotokritos (2017) inaugurated the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera and was later presented at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, and the Cultural Conference Centre of Heraklion. The music-theatre trilogy The Haunted (2019) premiered as a commission of the Athens Concert Hall. The folk opera Captain Michalis (2021) and the opera Eleftherios Venizelos (2023) were commissioned by the Region of Crete and the Cultural Conference Centre of Heraklion respectively.
Over the course of his twenty-year, highly prolific career, Maramis has consistently succeeded in engaging both seasoned and new audiences of classical and art music.
