A theatre of songs by Alexis Kyritsopoulos dedicated to the complete body of work of Dionysis Savvopoulos. A musical journey describing 60 years of travels across the Greek music scene and presence within society. We want to remember the one we always remember. To sing the one who still sings. We followed his winged horses through his adventures, his celebrations and his sorrows. We tried to make the stage shine with the light of his absence.
“This night you call it fire, I call it a tree,” he used to sing.
We have raised a luminous tree, with paintings and troubadours. With the certainty that Dionysis’s tree will continue to bear fruit and bring better days.
This musical performance is not exactly a celebration. It is joy through sorrow. Bittersweet joy. Honour and love for the one who loved us, enchanted us with stories, and continues to be the leader of this festivity.
