Overview

The ASO has cancelled the performance on 15 October 2021 due to the extreme weather conditions.

In his first collaboration with the Athens State Orchestra (ASO), the Belarusian conductor Vyacheslav Volic, principal conductor of the Odessa National Opera, conducts the Third Symphony by Camille Saint-Saëns, marking in this way the launching of a broader tribute to the great French composer, as 2021 marks the centenary of his death. The evening’s programme opens with a new symphonic work by the distinguished composer Dimitrios Skyllas, inspired by the Dance of Zalongo, after which the virtuoso pianist Cyprien Katsaris performs two spectacular and technically very demanding compositions by Franz Liszt.
