A couple on and off the stage, the Russian Ludmila Berlinskaya and the French pianist Arthur Ancelle, pianists with a rich soloistic activity, decided to focus their artistic interest on the repertoire for two pianos. Thanks to their imaginative programs and, above all, the timbral harmony that characterizes their performances, they soon emerged as one of the world’s most charming piano duos. At the Concert Hall they perform the only works by Shostakovich written from the outset for two pianos and charming jazz-tinged compositions by Alexander Tchfasman, a pioneer of jazz music in the Soviet Union.
