I will leave these orchards, I will take to the alleys of the sea.
The Megaron bids farewell to a poet and lyricist who lives on in our collective memory through his inexhaustible stream of lucid poetic images.

Manos Eleftheriou was born on Syros (12 March 1938). A poet, lyricist and prose writer, he received the State Fiction Award (2005) for The Time of the Chrysanthemums, and was honoured for his overall contribution by the Academy of Athens (2013). He died on 22 July 2018.
The Imaginary Wolf is Manos Eleftheriou’s magnum opus – his personal Nekyia, a descent to the Underworld on his quest for the meaning of time and decay, solitude, the necessity of art. The second part features Eleftheriou’s most memorable poems set to music by great Greek composers –the poet’s words that we have been singing, for years now, delivered by the most expressive voices in the Greek music scene.
