Overview
CHRISTMAS AT THE CONCERT HALL
Co-production:
Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall
Forminx
Première
Yiannis Markopoulos’s pioneer arrangements of Cretan folk tunes (rizitika) became models for transcriptions of traditional music throughout Europe. Currently a grandfather, Markopoulos transcribes Greek carols and traditional Christmas songs from various Greek regions for his grandchildren and for kids around the world. In this première, his honorary guest Xenia Kalogeropoulou will read fairy tales.
These two festive concerts right before Christmas also feature a children’s choir and a small musical ensemble.
