Three thriving Greek musicians, with intense concert activity and renowned value, imagination and virtuosity, highlight the velvety sound of the clarinet, the dark but warm sound of the viola and the imposing, harmoniously rich sound of the piano. To this end, they select leading works, original or in striking transcriptions, from the repertoire of the 19th (Schumann) and 20th centuries (Messiaen, Prokofiev, Debussy). Indeed, when the three instruments work in complementary fashion, as in the sensuous pieces by the German romantic composer Max Bruch, the diversity of the result is impressive, as they jointly unfold a similar musical material, or contribute different phrases, and thus moods, to the musical action.
