EXOrgue

Overview
EXOrgue is a collective musical endeavour, a research project on the construction of new and experimental musical instruments, but above all a proposal on the form and on the method of creating and presenting a musical work. At its epicentre is a new musical instrument, the organous, invented and constructed by Leo Morrell. It is a church organ whose various parts can be detached without affecting its functioning. It is computer-controlled or powered by live acoustic instruments. Three musical ensembles –HANATSU-miroir (Strasbourg), Ensemble Links (Paris) and ARTéfacts ensemble (Athens)– have been working with Leo Morel since 2018 on the implementation of his idea. In their appearance at Megaron, EXOrgue will present works by foreign composers who participated in previous workshops (Poissy, Strasbourg), while Megaron will also host a new workshop, featuring Alexandros Markeas as guest composer.
